Striving for equal opportunity, fostering social inclusion, responding to emergencies, and supporting the voluntary commitments of the men and women of the BNP Paribas Group are our main levers of solidarity-based action.
The Foundation’s commitment to equal opportunity
For 40 years, the BNP Paribas Foundation has given power to those who take action.
Our conviction? That philanthropy is a lever of transformation.
Combatting various forms of exclusion, supporting young people through programmes promoting education, fighting all forms of inequality and violence against women, fostering the integration of refugees in Europe, and encouraging voluntary commitments through our support of the initiatives promoted by the men and women of the BNP Paribas Group are hallmarks of our actions.
While it is up to corporate philanthropy to respond to crisis situations and emergencies, as we do, it is also essential to tackle the root causes of social scourges by getting involved with young people, for example, and by taking action against all forms of precariousness.
Fighting for equal opportunity is one of the major battles of the BNP Paribas Foundation.
Promoting equal opportunity, social and professional inclusion, and education is essential for giving each person the opportunity for financial security and autonomy.
The Foundation thus supports its partner associations who give their beneficiairies some of their time, their know-how, or their field expertise in regions, neighbourhoods, schools, social and solidarity-based companies, shelters and living centres for most vulnerable groups.
In the field of solidarity, the actions of the BNP Paribas Foundation’s partner associations focus on 5 main areas. The Foundation also oversees five key programmes, including:
Projet Banlieues
This programme supports French local associations whose impactful actions prevent different forms of exclusion, in underprivileged neighbourhoods identified as priorities in urban planning.
Since 2006, the Foundation has supported 1,200 associations and 1,200,000 beneficiaries.
In 2023, 20% of the entrepreneurs – or 5,000 persons – supported and financed by Adie were based in an underprivileged neighbourhood. This is the result of the community-based approach via the neighbourhood branch offices supported by the BNP Paribas Foundation through the Projet Banlieues programme.
Help2Help
Through the Help2Help programme, we encourage our BNP Paribas France employees’ personal and voluntary engagement within associations that operate in the general interest, in France and internationally.
Since 2003, Help2Help has been on the ground in about 20 countries, and more than 1,100 associations represented by our BNP Paribas employees have received support.
